Canine Grooming Powder

Our Canine Grooming Powder is a  natural and safe solution to use in-between water baths to clean and deodorize your dogs coat. We use it on our outdoor dog about 2-3 times a week to keep his coat in good condition. When he sees the container, he will come straight away and sit in anticipation. We do not use any chemicals on our dog and he has no flea or skin issues. This is backed up with a whole food diet and a small amount of  quality kibble that is free of additives, coloring and wheat.

Our proprietary blend includes baking soda, corn starch, arrow root, kaolin, bentonite, powdered lavender, lavender essential oil and cedarwood essential oil. ( EO's are at the 1% appropriate blend per weight and batch )

Using this powder will help prevent tangling, build up of oils and freshen the coat. Skin soothing minerals,  natural fine powdered herbs and earth elements will help protect skin from mild irritants, some yeasts and is skin soothing.  It creates a dry environment to help prevent fungus and deter fleas.  Avoid using ingredients such as sodium laurel sulfate, chlorahexidine and salycilic acid as they alter your dogs natural protective oils required by their immune system and known skin allergens.

To use, tap the powder over a "dry" coat in a light sprinkling and either use your hands or a pet brush to work it into the coat and skin. Massage it in, give it a little time to work and then use a soft brush to whisk it out. The powder absorbs and collects dirt to then be brushed out.  A soft terry cloth can be used as a finishing cloth for a final touch and help to bring out the shine. It does a good job to bring loose and shedding hair to the surface for easier removal and to keep the new hair healthy.

Cautions - Do NOT use the powder on the face or around the eyes or nose.  Do not allow the dog to inhale powder or lick from your hand.  A small pinch may be used on a cloth to rub around the ears, under jaw and collar area. Powder must be massaged in and not left on top of the coat in large amounts. Do not over use. Keep away from children. This is not to be used in exchange for water baths and is a grooming powder to enhance coat in between water baths.

This product is meant to help your dogs coat and is more for convenience. Although it is completely natural and plant based, you still need to take care. If you feel that your dog has sensitive skin, use a dime size amount in the arm pit area to test first, before using all over the body. Wait 24 hours for any possible reaction.

Lavender is anti-fungal, antiseptic, anti itch, repels bugs and is calming.  Cedarwood is anti-fungal, antibacterial, repels insects, treats itch and helps with hair loss.  Baking soda is a natural deodorizer, soothes skin, absorbs oils and helps repel fleas. Plant based arrow root offers B vitamins to the skin, is a prebiotic and has the same properties as baking soda. Prebiotics are important for probiotics to survive and live naturally on the skin to protect from allergies, irritations and have good skin. To many water baths or damaging liquid soaps can strip both the pro and prebiotics.  Cornstarch is highly absorbent and helps keep skin cool and dry.  Bentonite and Kaolin are detoxifying, rich in minerals and help to control oil.

This can be used on dogs ages 4 months and older, not for cats but can be used on humans and horses.

Packaged in a 4 oz weight powder bottle and for all hair types and breeds.
