Sage Honey Cough Syrup - Oakwood Natural Living

Give this a try!  It's easy to do and very effective.

Sage is an anti-bacterial, astringent and anti-inflammatory herb, which makes it great for sore throats and coughs.

Raw honey is an effective cough suppressant.

3/4 cup of raw local wildflower honey, 1/4 cup of water, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of fresh sage (chopped).

You can find sage in your local grocery store, farmers market or you can grow your own.

Stir all ingredients over medium heat until its simmering.  Remove from heat and let steep, covered for 10 minutes.

Strain mixture and store in the fridge, in a sealed glass jar.  It will last in the fridge for up to 3 months.
